RE: How to deal with foot problems.

I finally went to an orthopedist. He fixed me up with a pair of expensive orthotics ($159) AND a few cortisone shots. I had to be patient, but within a few weeks my foot pain was dramatically improved. I wear my orthotics absolutely every day. I never wear pretty shoes. I wear my orthotics with sensible New Balance shoes. I'd rather be pain-free than cute.
Can orthotics be worn in shoes like a casual leather shoe that laces up? I may get that "next step" from my foot doctor this Friday. Been months of pain. ugh.It depends on if there is room inside those shoes and the problem causing the pain. With the Morton's Neuroma, I have had to move into a wider shoe and up half a size.

RE: Drug samples from doctors going away?

I would not mind them pulling their adv out of all the magazines that you and I read. But the samples, I don't know. And they do have some decent promotional items and really good ballpoint pens. My son gets lots of that stuff and he is just a paramedic!

RE: Television converters

I bought mine from Solid Signal...U can call them and place UR order if U don't like doing business online...They seemed very professional and send me a tracking number etc so I knew when to expect them...And once they got here I like them better than any other converter I have tried...And the cost was $11.99 for 2 converter boxes...Their phone number is 1-866-374-4625...I don't work for them but I plan on buying more boxes from them as soon as I can get more coupons...http://www.solidsignal.com/

RE: Performance Bond - or something like it???

Who holds title and replacement insurance? And who holds responsibility legally. Is there another lien holder? I would not do this without a lawyer, and even with a lawyer it could be very risky.

RE: Which Tow Dolly?

If you all were choosing, what would you choose? A brand new stehl tow dolly or a 10 year old Kar Kaddy? It depends on the price and condition of the Kar Kaddy which can be reconditioned. We already know what the new stehl dolly will costs.

RE: Picture of loose wires?

This outlet was just a normal looking outlet, you could not tell it was a GFI outlet, no red on the reset button or anything different.
mtnman
You mean the actual GFI outlet? Or the outlet down circuit of the GFI outlet?

RE: Banking using Wi-Fi

If you were travelling in Russia and found an unsecured wi-fi signal from the hotel balcony, would banking be safe using that signal?I can answer that with personal knowledge. Any signal from a hotel room in Russia is going to be listen to and the encryption broken. Nothing would be out of question in that country.
And this is not off topic. There are unscrupulous people in this country who do the same thing for personal gain. There are also scrupulous people who break signal encryption for our government. Some of them are very good at what they do.

RE: How often to adj. slack adjusters

Ever go by a DOT checkpoint after the checking is done and see all those trucks sitting the marked "out of service". Well, about 1/3 of them are out of service because those automatic slack adjusters were out of adjustment. Think they are the same ones that are on your coach. The air brake manual referenced above tells you how to adjust them on page 66.
And how many of those out of service trucks are sitting there because the FRONT brakes were TOTALLY disengaged..so they didnt work AT ALL...thusly preventing an accidental "jack knife"!
Front brakes properly adjusted and properly working do not cause accidental jack knifes. And the vast majority of today's drivers do not know how to totally disengage the front brakes.
And I'll go one step further, in my 20 plus years of hauling hazardous material in the north east I have never had a jack knife that I could not get out of before going into a full jack knife. Jack knifes are caused by improper speed and not paying attention to road conditions. But I worked for a company who kept their equipment up to standards. But yes, they had to send mechanics out to DOT inspection sites to adjust brakes with automatic slack adjusters. And we seldom had a back haul and pulled very light weight aluminum tankers empty on snow covered roads.
That is all out of me!

RE: Banking using Wi-Fi

The banks should have a good security system. If they didn't they would be liable for lots of losses. They probably consider it a good investiment. You don't remember the HBSC computer glitch a while back? http://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/hsbc.html. It not only affected people in Buffalo, but big companies in NYC, and others on the west coast.
I like small banks where I can call on the phone and tell them what to transfer, and who to transfer it to.

RE: Sams Club Back-Up Camera System

Mounted my wireless camera inside the back window. Tied into the 12 volt wiring in the closet and put a switch in to turn it on and off. Works well so far. 30 foot class A.

RE: Ford Focus towing on dolly

You will probably have to find someway of extending the ramps because of the front air dam. Or remove it. Otherwise it will be damaged.

RE: Topics "Beat to Death"

Maybe there should be a forum lock to prevent one from posting until a search has been made. Doubt we will see this soon. Some day I'm afraid it may come to this as the internet becomes more crowded.
And just what does this have to do with the forum topic?

RE: 10W30 Diesel Motor Oil availability

Cat has a fantastic oil for you: http://ohe.cat.com/cda/components/fullArticle?m=86048&x=7&id=259917. The Full Synthetic Cat Diesel Oil, 5w-40 works great at any temp, and is available anywhere from many sources. It is the same as Delvac 1, so it can be mixed.
